Defenceman Franklin MACDONALD agrees to join the GMB Panthers
Thirty-year-old defenceman FRANKLIN MACDONALD has agreed terms with the GMB Nottingham Panthers for the rest of the current season.
The six feet tall, left shot has played in the top league in Austria at Linz for the past six seasons and also has East Coast Hockey and AHL hockey on his resume with time at Linz, Florida and Rochester adding up to 123 AHL games, 67 in the coast and 306 games in Austria where he helped win the championship in 2011-12.
Work on the paperwork and flights continues today with the intention of him making his Panthers' debut as soon as possible.
Panthers' head coach Corey Neilson said: "We've been looking at the way we're playing for a few weeks and wanted to strengthen the D-corps, ideally with a leftie, Franklin does that."
