Top British defenceman Jonathon Weaver who marked his first season the colours of the GMB Panthers with a Grand Slam triumph will be back for season 2013-14.

He had 44 points in 52 games including 34 assists last season as his play-making helped the Panthers to their record breaking campaign.

Head coach Corey Neilson said today : "He was a key signing last summer and he will be a key signing again this summer. Weaves brings so much experience and skill to the table for us. His passing is fabulous, he scored some big goals and he helped lift our defence to a new level last season."

And Weaver himself added: "This was one of my easiest ever career decisions. Last season exceeded my expectations by a long way. It was a great season and everything about playing in Nottingham was all I'd hoped it would be and more. The fans were tremendous throughout the year and I'm hoping we'll all be having some more great times together again next year too."
