Corey: Mosey is actually faster now
Corey Neilson has spoken to Panthers Radio with Xynomix about the signing coup of the offseason, the return of Evan Mosey.
Corey and Evan had exchanged texts throughout the summer and Coach said ‘once the decision was in place for him [Evan] to move back to Europe, it was made pretty quickly.’
Corey, as part of his coaching duties with Team GB, has seen how Mosey’s skills have improved first hand when Evan made a huge impact in helping Great Britain achieve promotion.
‘One surprising thing I didn’t know I would find out is that he is actually faster now than he was when he played with us.
‘He wasn’t put in a position to play on those top two lines over there but we think, with his pace on the Olympic Ice surface, he can really do some damage.’
A lot has changed since Evan left Nottingham and part of this the locker room dynamic that might now call for him, as one of the older, more experienced players, to take on something of a leadership role.
On this topic, Corey said ‘Evan has some natural leadership abilities… I expect all the players to self-police themselves and he will have that added assignment, whether there is a letter on his jersey or not.’
