Home in the cup Wednesday
Two more big games are lined up to start the New Year for the GMB Nottingham Panthers. After getting back to winning ways at home on Saturday the team is hoping to build on that victory with an away league game in Coventry on New Year’s Day and then a big home cup clash on Wednesday.
Wednesday sees a place in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup up for grabs. Milton Keynes Lightning are the visitors to the Motorpoint Arena and they bring in a slender one goal advantage from the first leg.
First though, Panthers travel across the Midlands to rivals Coventry for New Year’s Day action at 6pm. Fans not travelling can buy a webcast through the Blaze website.
The team in the PhysioDirect treatment room report no fresh worries ahead of the next game and Panthers are set to ice the same line-up as the roster which won 4-3 on Saturday.
Said head coach Corey Neilson: “We need to build on that win. You can see some of the guys ‘still fighting it’ out on the ice but they were all happy people after we snapped the losing streak. They liked winning again and that’s a feeling they all crave and want more of. Everyone is determined to carry on working hard and earn our rewards.”
Wednesday’s game faces-off at 7.30pm. Good seats are still available. Tickets on sale now!
