Milton Keynes choose Panthers
The Milton Keynes Lightning made the most surprising decision of the new selection system when they chose the Nottingham Panthers in the next round of the Challenge Cup.
We're already underway working on fixture dates to accomodate this huge matchup!
HOW IT WORKED OUT:
The first seed, Sheffield Steelers, chose the Dundee Stars in Quarter Final One.
The second seed, Milton Keynes Lightning, chose the GMB Panthers in Quarter Final Two.
The third seed, Belfast Giants, got the final decision and chose the Fife Flyers in Quarter Final three.
That left the Guildford Flames to take on the Cardiff Devils in the Quarter Final Four.
The higher seed in each quarter-final matchup will have the choice of whether they have a home or away second leg.
The semi-final stage of the competition will then see the winner of QF1 face the winner of QF4, and the winner of QF2 face the winner of QF3
The higher seed in each semi-final will have the choice of whether they have a home or away second leg.
The winners of the semi-finals will meet at Ice Arena Wales in Cardiff on Sunday 4th March 2018.
