BRUCE RICHARDSON WILL BE BACK!
FIRST SIGNING OF THE SUMMER ….
AND IT’S A KEY ONE!
The GMB Nottingham Panthers are thrilled to announce their first summer signing just 48 hours after the final game of the 2008-9 season with the news that BRUCE RICHARDSON has put pen to paper and will be back alongside coach Corey Neilson next season.
Bruce makes things happen for us on the ice and says he has unfinished business to take care of.
Richardson moved to the GMB Panthers last summer and picked up a host of club awards this season. He was coach Neilson’s right-hand man and the pair steered the club to the play-off final and third place in the standings, pipped for runners-up spot only on number of games won.
Said Bruce today : “I have enjoyed a great bonding with the organisation and the fans and I want to keep that going.
"I love the organisation here in Nottingham.
“We’ve got unfinished business because we didn’t lift any trophies but we had an exciting year, we provided lots of entertainment, and we are aiming to add to the trophy cabinet next season.
“I like the city, my family love everything here. When you play for Nottingham you have everything you need off ice which helps bring success on the ice. It is fun to play for and organisation which has so many fans in building and which is so professional.”
Added coach Corey Neilson: “Bruce is a great professional. Dedicated, experienced and a workaholic. He has drive and ambition and is an example to everyone. After I agreed terms myself, the organisation made the return of Bruce Richardson a priority and we’re pleased to have fended off the interest from other teams. Just about everyone wanted to steal him, but Bruce has loyalty amongst his many qualities and he’ll be back with us next season. It is great news and further proof, if anyone needed it, of the ambitions of this club.”
Coach Neilson will be talking to the other players from the season 2008-9 roster in the coming days and we expect to have more announcements sooner rather than later.
