More details will be announced nearer the time, but coach Corey Neilson said today : “This will be a major part of our training camp and will lead up nicely to the Charity Shield game against Sheffield on the Wednesday, and then the league gets underway. It is all very exciting and everyone’s looking forward to the new season with relish.”
Meanwhile the coach is hoping to finalise his last “import” signing of the season in the next few days and in the meantime has confirmed that 22-year-old Scottish forward Ross Dalgleish is joining the club from Edinburgh.
A product of the Murrayfield development programme, Ross has played for the senior team in Edinburgh for the past four seasons. “I’m hoping for big things from Ross, it is time for him to step up to claim a place on a big team,” added Neilson.
Meanwhile the latest signing has flown from his home in Scotland to Canada to join in the training at the academy training camp in Orangeville and will travel to Montreal this weekend with the other youngsters and coach Neilson and Bruce Richardson to take part in a unique ice hockey tournament which features several NHL and ex-NHL players.
The StanleyKeg features a cup on a barrel of beer as the ultimate winners’ trophy and proves very popular each year.
The last few of last season’s replica shirts are being sold off at the incredible price of just £15 at the arena shop…they are mostly XXL and XXXL in sizes and they are white and gold. There are two kids sized shirts left (£10 each).
Meanwhile the new shirts for next season are currently under manufacture and the suppliers are confident we will have stocks in plenty of time to organise sales from the shop on the day of the Charity Shield match against Sheffield on September 2nd.
