Said a club spokeswoman : "We're not the first and we won't be the last to show support for our armed forces. It seems wrong that people can be critical of men and women doing such a difficult job and we just thought they might like to have a great night out on us.

"The match will be ice hockey at its best. Play-off ice hockey is even more intense than a regular game and we always have great match-ups with the Cardiff  Devils. There's a place in the finals four weekend at stake so motivation isn't going to be a problem. Everyone is looking forward to the game and if the armed forces want to wear their uniforms we'd be happy to see them, but it isn't a condition of free entry, all they need to do is bring their ID along having pre-booked by sending in a e-mail."

Saturday's game is sponsored by club shirt manufacturers CandH sports and is also supported by the RAF who will be manning a recruitment display at the game.

THE MATCH TAKES PLACE AT THE NATIONAL ICE CENTRE IN NOTTINGHAM WITH A 7PM START, SATURDAY MARCH 29TH 2008. THE SECOND LEG IS THE FOLLOWING EVENING IN CARDIFF.
