TEENAGE CANCER TRUST events update

THE GMB NOTTINGHAM PANTHERS ARE STAGING A GAME-WORN SHIRT AUCTION TO RAISE MONEY TO HELP ESTABLISH TEENAGE CANCER WARDS IN THE CITY.  THE AUCTION WILL BE IN THE PLATINUM SUITE AT THE ARENA AFTER SUNDAY'S VALENTINE'S DAY GAME AGAINST BELFAST.

The “live” auction will involve the sale of the team’s white strip. Most of the jerseys will be signed by the players who will be at the auction at the TrentFM Arena as soon after the match as the players can get there. Fans need to bring either all their cash with them to cover any successful bids or a fifty pounds cash non-refundable deposit and we'll make arrangements to sort out the rest of the payment and shirt collection at a later date.

MEANWHILE THE AT YOUR SERVICE EVENT AT THE STRADA RESTAURANT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE SAME CHARITY IS ALREADY A SELL-OUT

More money will Be raised for the same cause when the players wait on at tables at the Strada restaurant in the CornerHouse. A similar event for charity proved very popular last season and monies from the combined events will be given to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

This event went on sale at last Saturday's home game and sold out in an hour!

A GMB Panthers spokeswoman added: “It is often the case that teenagers who have to battle against cancer end up on a children’s ward or an adult ward, neither can be much help as they try to deal with such a big ordeal. If they are alongside other teenagers, facing the same problems fears and worries it has got to help.

“If we can help a little bit to bring that about we will be pleased to do so.”
