ALL STAR SHIRT up for auction

Ice-hockey supporters have their chance to take-home a piece of memorabilia from last week’s All-Stars game held at Ice Sheffield. The Overseas All-Stars beat the British All-Stars in a thrilling encounter of speed and skill from some of the best players in the Elite League.

A special auction is currently taking place where the game-worn shirts from all the players involved are on offer and there are so many names to choose from.

For the Overseas All-Stars there’s Belfast’s Jeff Szwez who scored two goals and two assists and Jade Galbraith (Nottingham Panthers) who contributed four assists. Popular tough-guy Sean McMorrow, who was chosen by supporters on the starting line-up, scored a goal and an assist, while both Randy Dagenais (Sheffield Steelers) and Matic Karlj (Newcastle Vipers) both found the back of the net twice.

On the British All-Stars roster, there’s Greg Owen (Coventry Blaze) who scored twice and Belfast’s Colin Shields who also netted on two occasions. There’s GB international captain Jonathan Weaver and the likes of David Clarke and Stephen Murphy, chosen by supporters on the British starting line-up.

Elite League chairman, Eamon Convery, said: “This is a great chance for supporters to own a special piece of memorabilia. These shirts are very much sought after and have been worn by some of the best players in the league.”
