Fans' "home made trophies" on Sunday and more civic recognition

The GMB Panthers are liaising with the Nottingham City Council about suitable dates after the club was invited to a Civic Reception at the Council House to mark their European success. The reception comes on the back of plans for giant banners to be put up at the Council House from Friday marking the team becoming Continental Cup Champions of Europe 2017 last weekend. Meanwhile more and more fans are planning to join in Sunday's trophy re-presentation by bringing their own home-made replicas. We've been advising fans there won't be a problem with cardboard wrapped in kitchen foil. The trophy we get to keep is two feet long and 13 inches from top to bottom, and of course, it is oval in shape. A club spokeswoman said "We have a presentation party lined up to re-present the trophy at the end of Sunday's game and then there'll be a brief celebration on the ice. Straight after that the guys will be heading to the Platinum suite for the special game-worn charity shirt tuxedo design auction, raising funds for the Headway charity. We've asked the council officials to see if,at the civic reception when it happens, we can get access to the balcony on the front of the Council House so that fans can join in there. "Meanwhile, the more home made Continental Cup replicas in the stands on Sunday the better....we'd love to see the place full of them!" Tickets for Sunday's game are now on sale. BE A PART OF THE HOMECOMING!
