Last training before the European adventure resumes
The GMB Nottingham Panthers took to the ice at the arena today for their last session ahead of a crucial weekend of European action when a place in the super final of this year's Continental Cup is up for grabs. Panthers travel to Odense in Denmark for the next round of the tournament where they're up against the hosts and top teams from the Ukraine and France. The equipment was setting off by road and ferry this afternoon and the team fly to Copenhagen tomorrow. Geoff Waugh will not travel because of injury and David Clarke is unlikely to ice this weekend. Long term injury victim Stephen Schultz is travelling to train and skate but NOT play in Denmark as he continues his progress towards full recovery which is currently running about five or six weeks ahead of schedule. Said head coach Corey Neilson: "There are other bumps and niggles and worries but the team knows what we will have to do. Two teams go through to the grand finale and we very much want to be one of those teams. We'll have fans in the stands and everyone wants to do a good job for them."
