Panthers Injury update ahead of Continental Cup
The GMB Panthers departed for Ritten with the whole squad on board the bus, although there were questions marks over a couple of players. Well some of those questions are on their way to being answered at this morning’s first training session in Ritten. Firstly, Geoff Waugh, who is not expected to play this weekend, continued his recovery and is edging closer to a return as he skated with some teammates this morning. David Clarke, who has also recently been missing action, did not skate with the team this morning so continues to assume his coaching role alongside Rick Strachan and Corey Neilson. The big news however is about Stephen Schultz. He had to pull out of Saturday’s game against the Braehead Clan and did not enter the line-up against the Coventry Blaze. Well he returned to full training this morning and he’ll be checked over by our medical staff after both sessions before tomorrow’s game. If they give him the all clear, Schultz would return to the lineup in time to take on the Odense Bulldogs on Friday. As of writing there are no questions over other players in the team.
