THE NOTTINGHAM Panthers and their mascot PAWS have a busy weekend of sports action in Nottingham line-up for marathon weekend in the city.

Paws will be taking on mascots from other sports teams in the special Robin Hood Marathon launch race ahead of the kids event on Saturday morning.

The main marathon and half marathon are on Sunday. We’re told any traffic disruption should be well over long before Panthers Sunday afternoon face-off against the Clan from Glasgow.

Panthers and Clan meet on Saturday as well (seven o’clock) as the Panthers finally get the chance to play at home after three weekends on the road when the ice wasn’t made available to us. A club spokeswoman said: “Everyone is chomping at the bit to get some home ice action back on. The players can’t wait to play in the arena in front of the home crowd again. With Paws in the race we’re looking for a gold medal winning performance from him, he’s been training hard at our fitness centre ROKO, and then the boys are chasing four valuable league points. What a weekend of Panthers’ sport. The louder the roar the bigger the score and hopefully the faster Paws’ claws!”

Fans will be able to pay on the door on both Saturday and Sunday but for more choice book in advance by calling 0843 373 3000, by visiting the box office, or by clicking here to buy online.
