Panthers part ways with Chernomaz
Rich Chernomaz has been relieved of his duties as Panthers head coach, effective immediately.
The organisation would like to thank Rich for all his efforts at the club and wish him all the best in the future.
Despite a good start to the season, recent results have been disappointing, and the club felt this necessitated a change.
Rick Strachan has been appointed Head Coach for the remainder of the 18-19 season.
Coach Strachan took charge of training this morning.
There have also been changes in the assistant coach roles.
While he recovers from injury, Gui Lepine will adopt Assistant Coach duties and will join Rick on the bench for the upcoming Scottish three in three.
He has some experience in this role from his time with the Wichita Thunder last season.
Meanwhile, Kevin Henderson will take on the captaincy whilst Lepine is out and Alex Bolduc will be given an A.
Panthers Chairman Neil Black said “Rich recruited a great roster of talent and we think we can still make a good run at the end of the season and remain in contention for all three titles.
“We believe this move gives us the best chance at success and look forward to giving Rick Strachan all the support he needs to take us over the finish line.
"We thank Rich for his efforts and wish him all the best in his future.”
