The Nottingham Panthers return to home-ice action this Sunday, face-off 4pm, when the Fife Flyers roll into the Motorpoint Arena for an important Elite League match up.

With just six points separting the sides in the standings, and Fife having five games in hand on the Panthers, the two points on offer will be imperative for both teams as they battle for playoff seedings ahead of the EIHL post-season.

The season series with the Flyers currently stands at 2-2-0, with the Panthers taking penalty shot wins in Nottingham and Fife, and both teams will want to forge ahead in order to secure to the best possible seeding.

A club spokesperson said: "A trip to the ice hockey is always a great treat for all of the family.

"It's an early face-off (4.00pm) so there will be plenty of time to get the little ones to bed in time to be up bright and early on Monday morning for school, and with both teams needing the two points they're sure to have a lot to talk to their friends about when they get there.

"To top everything off it's a proverbial four-pointer aswell, the team will need the Panthers Nation behind them, as they have been all season, once again as we look to hunt down the third placed Clan."

Head Coach Rick Strachan is set to have a full compliment of skaters at his disposal, despite Dylan Olsen (lower body) who is continuing his recovery, so will have to scratch one import from the line-up in each of the weekend's games.
