Continental Cup final goes to Italy
Bosses at the International Ice Hockey Federation have announced this year's Continental Cup Final will be staged at Ritten in Italy. The Panthers had tried to get the dates of the final moved either forward or backward and had applied to stage the event themselves but it has never been moved in its twenty year history and there is to be no exception this year. The ice wasn't available to stage the event in Nottingham on the original January 13-15 dates. It's a big disappointment after all the hard work that has gone on behind the scenes that we can't showcase such a huge European final to our massive fanbase at such a brilliant venue and we would like to thank everyone who supported our bid to stage the final. It's not to be and we wish the organisers in Ritten a successful tournament. Ritten, Panthers, Odense (Denmark) and Atyrau (Kazakhstan) will contest the Twentieth Anniversary Continental Cup Final.
