Exciting league format – EXTRA game for Panthers’ season ticket holders

Exciting new league format – EXTRA game added for Panthers’ season ticket holders The Elite League campaign in the coming 2017-18 season will feature twelve teams in three four-club conferences. There will also be three Challenge Cup groups for the round-robin stage of that competition. The league groups are: Nottingham, Sheffield, Cardiff and Belfast. Dundee, Fife, Edinburgh and Braehead. Coventry, Manchester, Guildford and Milton Keynes. Teams play against clubs in their own conference four times at home and four times away. There will be two games home and two games away against the clubs in the other conferences. This gives clubs 28 HOME league games. Panthers’ season tickets are already on sale with 27 games included BUT in light of today’s league decision the club has decided to give season ticket holders in Nottingham the extra game as a bonus match. The season will start on the weekend of September 9/10 2017 but teams have the option of starting a week earlier if they have ice-time and wish to do so. However, after winning the Continental Cup, Panthers are in the Champions Hockey League which is scheduled for games on the weekend of September 2/3 already, so this option will not apply to us. The Challenge Cup groups will be: Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester and Braehead Belfast, Dundee, Edinburgh and Fife Cardiff, Coventry, Milton Keynes and Guildford The top two teams from each group will progress to the quarter-finals plus the two clubs with the best records from those that finish third or fourth in the group stage. A club spokeswoman said: “There has been much discussion and consideration of every possible option available as we increase the Elite League which continues to grow year on year. Of course, the format will be reviewed year on year as it always is. This exciting new format means there are fewer cross-conference games than last season. “We have terrific support from our fans in Nottingham not least our season ticket holders. We’ve decided to increase the number of games from the 27 stipulated on the application forms and include ALL 28 home league matches for season ticket holders in season 2017-18. “The first of the deadlines for season ticket applications comes up on Sunday this weekend at noon when any unclaimed existing locations will be opened up to other applicants. Season ticket holders from last season who haven’t yet renewed their locations are reminded that the early bird massively discounted prices continue after Sunday’s noon deadline BUT the chance to keep your existing locations runs out this weekend.” There are some other dates for fans to keep in mind as they submit their season ticket application forms. 31st May 2017: Closing date for Early Bird discount prices 31st May 2017: Closing date for direct debit applications 30th June 2017: Closing date for all applications Don’t miss out.
