The GMB Nottingham Panthers are preparing for a weekend of cup and league action.

First they round off the round-robin section of the Challenge Cup on Saturday with a trip to already eliminated Manchester. Panthers are already in the quarter-final match-ups.

More importantly, there are two Elite League points up for grabs when Fife Flyers visit Nottingham at four o’clock on Sunday afternoon.

With no mid-week game action, the players have been in the gym and on the ice and Dan Spang told Panthers Radio with Xynomix that can only help.

He says the mood in the camp is good and practices have gone well.

Like others before him, he believes lessons learned in the European competition of the Champions Hockey League will start to filter through to the domestic games and will start to come to the fore.

Panthers go into the weekend with no skaters in the top twenties of the various scoring charts. But Panthers are top of the league with games in hand.

Said Dan Spang : “We’re strong on all four lines, everyone chips in.”

Tickets for Sunday’s game are on sale now.
