Panthers host Storm next

Coming into December, the Panthers boasted an oustanding home record in the EIHL of just two losses.

Despite starting the month with a big win over the Sheffield Steelers however, two consecutive home losses against the Cardiff Devils and Belfast Giants have seen the Panthers slip from top spot.

Not all is as gloomy as it may seem though.

The Panthers are just three points away from first place and hold at least a game in hand over their rivals.

Their may also be some good news coming out of the Physio Direct Treatment Room later in the week, with Evan Mosey and Patrick Galbraith both progressing well with their respective injuries.

The next chance to bring back that dominant home form is againt the Manchester Storm.

It'll have been a week to the day that we last played Manchester when we host them on the 23rd.

The last encounter in Altricham saw the Panthers take the lead, only for Manchester to square things up early in the third period and take the game to overtime.

Manchester were then able to convert a power play goal to take the extra point over the the Panthers.

It was an exciting game though and the next one promises to be much the same.

When the Storm last came to Nottingham last, Challenge Cup action in September, it was a nailbiter of a game that the Panthers won 3-2, despite a late comeback from the Storm who scored with just 20 seconds left on the clock.

It should be a great game so head down to the Motorpoint Arena for the last Panthers game before Christmas!
