26-year-old Canadian forward Tyler Welsh played three years for Yale University in the NCAA - the top level of college hockey in North America - before spending the 2021-22 season as alternate captain for Long Island University.
He made his professional debut the same year, playing nine times for Newfoundland Growlers in the East Coast Hockey League.
Last season, Welsh scored at a point per game for Mullhouse in Ligue Magnus, the top division in France.
