The Nottingham Panthers were beaten 3-0 by Manchester Storm on-the-road in Altrincham on Sunday night.

Panthers had the same line-up as Saturday night against Sheffield Steelers, with Ollie Betteridge, Myles McGurty, Josh Tetlow and Tyler Welsh all out through injury.

Netminder Rok Stojanovic started between the pipes for Jonathan Paredes' side with Mike Robinson as back-up.

Storm lead at first intermission
The hosts had a goal disallowed inside the first minute after Cam Critchlow was adjudged to have kicked the puck into the net.

Jake Ryczek hit the pipes for the Panthers before the Storm went ahead when CJ Garcia's blast from the blueline was tipped-in by Tyler Hinam (11:26).

Didrik Henbrant, Alexander Lunsjö and Stephen Anderson had chances to equalise but Manchester led by one at the first intermission.

No goals in second period
Stojanovic made an outstanding save, clawing the puck back off the line which was confirmed by the officials after a video review.

Mathieu Lemay was so close to an equaliser moments later and also saw a shot flash across the face of goal, before missed chances for Logan Neilson and Mike Caruso late in the period.

Manchester score twice to seal victory
Caruso came out the box and had a shot saved by Evan Weninger, while Anthony Luciani and Westin Michaud had chances on a third-period powerplay.

Hinam cut inside the zone and used the Panthers defence as a screen to fire a superb second of the night past Stojanovic (49:24).

Panthers pushed for a way into the game with chances for Caruso, Henbrant and Joe Hazeldine, but Dallas Ehrhardt wrapped the game up for the Storm with an empty-net goal from his own zone (57:14).

Panthers return to action on Saturday (3rd February) with Coventry Blaze the visitors to the Motorpoint Arena.

The two sides will battle it out for vital Elite League points in a game sponsored by WAGO UK.
