CHARITY OF THE MONTH: WILL GARVEY TRUST FOUNDATION

Our Charity of the Month for December is The Will Garvey Trust Foundation.

The Will Garvey Trust Foundation was founded in 2017 in memory of Will Garvey, a charismatic young man born and raised in West Hallam who was lost to suicide at the age of 20.

The charity believes that no-one else should experience suicide or the loss of a loved one to suicide.

Joanna Garvey said: "Will's journey has inspired us to take action as we drive to make a difference and enable young people to choose a different path.

"The outcome that we seek is that our local communities are suicide safe. We're here to serve young people, their friends and their families. The pressures of this time of year can be overwhelming.

"If this is you, for whatever reason, or no reason at all, please speak to someone you trust, or contact an organisation whose volunteers are trained to listen and maybe offer you some advice. Please don't struggle on alone.

"We're in the foyer again tonight so feel free to pop and see us and hear about the work that we do. We'd love to meet you.

"Take care of yourself and check in on those you love."
