The Nottingham Panthers defenceman Simon Després gives his first interview to Panthers TV since signing a deal until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old was selected by Pittsburgh Penguins as a teenger in the first round of the 2009 NHL Draft and has made 193 appearances in the world's top league, scoring six goals and contributing 37 assists for 43 points.

He spent four seasons with the Penguins before being acquired by Anaheim Ducks in a trade in March 2015.

Després has also played in the AHL as well as two of the top leagues in Europe in the Swedish Elite League and Germany's DEL.

The blueliner talks about why he chose Nottingham, his excitment about playing for the Panthers fanbase and his desire to see other people succeed around him.

He's set to make his debut on Sunday as Belfast Giants visit the Motorpoint Arena in the Elite League (4pm face-off) - a game sponsored by Wago. 

It's set to be a special occasion as this remarkable group of players return to the ice for the first time in a competitive game.
