ELITE LEAGUE: PANTHERS 4-0 FLYERS

Alex Dubeau secured a 21-shot shutout as The Nottingham Panthers beat Fife Flyers 4-0 at the Motorpoint Arena in the Viaplay Elite League.

Duggie Lagrone and Craig Moore missed out again through injury, but Archie Hazeldine and Jack Hopkins returned to the line-up after winning a silver medal with Great Britain at the U20 Men's World Championship in Lithuania.

Sorenson puts Panthers ahead
Dubeau made saves from Reece Cochrane and Janne Laakkonen in the opening stages, while Adam Brady, Jeremy Welsh and Brett Welychka all went close for the Panthers on the same shift.

Welsh was then denied after dancing through the Fife defence, before Mike Hammond's clever pass found Tanner Sorenson to tap home from just in front of the crease (18:28).

Anderson extends Nottingham lead
Panthers applied pressure early in period two as Fabrizio Ricci tipped a Stephen Anderson shot just wide.

Anderson made it 2-0 shortly after, slamming home from the slot after a pass from behind the net by Craig Puffer (25:26).

Panthers dominated the closing stages of the second session, with Welsh, Ricci, Puffer and Jordan Kelsall all going close.

Dubeau secures shutout
Luke Ferrara's shot from the right circle was saved by Shane Owen, while Dubeau made a great stop from a Chris Lawrence shot as Fife looked to reduce the arrears.

Sorenson's shot from point was saved by Owen, but Hammond was on hand on the doorstep to pop home the rebound (54:32).

And Panthers wrapped the game up as Sorenson netted his second of the night on the powerplay on the rebound (58:07).

Clan at home on Friday
Panthers host Glasgow Clan on Friday at the Motorpoint Arena in the Viaplay Elite League (7:30pm) to start a busy festive period, which also sees back-to-back matches against Sheffield Steelers and Coventry Blaze.
