The Nottingham Panthers beat Glasgow Clan 6-2 at the Motorpoint Arena in the Elite League on Wednesday night.

Tanner Sorenson scored twice as Panthers inflicted a 10th straight league defeat on the Clan.

Nottingham were without Duggie Lagrone and Andrew Johnston because of injury, while Jack Berry started his fifth straight game between the pipes.

Kelsall and Sorenson give Panthers first-period advantage
Jordan Kelsall put Panthers ahead as his shot went in off the right-hand post following a great pass by JC Brassard (7:56).

Myers reacted first to a rebound to feed Sorenson who swept in Nottingham's second (11:36), before Berry made a great save to deny Mathieu Roy from close range.

Clan closed the gap in the closing stages of the first session as Gary Haden cleverly tipped in John Dunbar's shot (18:24).

Hammond and Welychka on target to halt Clan fightback
Glasgow equalised on the powerplay early in the second period when Steven McParland's pass across goal was deflected past Berry off Brassard (23:08).

Panthers regained the lead just over four minutes later as Mike Hammond's shot through the crease was deflected into his own net by John Muse (27:17).

Brett Welychka tipped in Nottingham's fourth, redirecting Mike Caruso's shot from the blueline (31:00).

Sorenson's second secure solid Panthers victory
A super patient play by David Levin set-up Sorenson on a two-on-one break to score his second of the night at the backdoor (41:52).

Jordan Cownie had a great chance to reduce the arrears but shot wide while at the other end, Luke Ferrara shot just over from the right circle.

Panthers scored short-handed in the final minute as Craig Puffer from on his knees fed Matthew Myers at the backdoor (59:12).

Panthers back at home on Sunday
Nottingham return to action on Saturday with a trip to Sheffield Steelers in the Challenge Cup (7pm face-off), before returning home to host Cardiff Devils in the Elite League on Sunday (4pm face-off).
