LUNSJÖ LOVING PLAYING WITH MICHAUD AND NEILSON

The Nottingham Panthers forward Alexander Lunsjö says he is loving playing with line-mates Westin Michaud and Logan Neilson.

The 27-year-old, who joined the Panthers in the summer from Swedish side Västerås IK, is currently on a seven-game points-streak.

Lunsjö has 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points this season and on Wednesday night he assisted on goals for Logan Neilson and Anthony Luciani (powerplay) in the come-from-behind 5-4 victory over Cardiff Devils.

The line of Lunsjö, Michaud and Neilson is the hottest line in the league right now since becoming a trio for the 9-7 defeat on-the-road at Fife Flyers on 10th February.

"I love playing with Westin and Logan," said Lusjö. "When I show Westin my stick he just passes the puck. I am just trying to keep giving him the puck and find good spots to shoot.

"Logan is fun to watch. We talk a lot with him on the bench and on the ice. We know that he has a really hard and good shot and it's really fun to see him scoring.

"We are all having fun right now and it's good. What's helping us is we keep talking every practice, every game and at the bench.

"We talk a lot about everything and that helps a lot when you are out there."

This season is Lunsjö's first outside his homeland of Sweden and he says he has been blown away by the support from the Panthers fans.

"It's so different to what I have experienced before," continued Lunsjö. "Even when we have lost games away they are standing by the bus cheering for us.

"The noise and atmosphere at home games has been very special. I really love the fans here and appreciate them a lot.

"I feel like what we can give back is wins. They have our backs so much and we just want to win for them."

Panthers travel to Glasgow Clan on Saturday before returning home to host Belfast Giants at the Motorpoint Arena on Sunday (4pm).
