PANTHERS AND MOTORPOINT ARENA REMEMBERING HAMMY

The Nottingham Panthers have been touched by the hundreds of messages in memory of Mike Hammond who died in car accident last week.

Tributes have poured in from across the ice hockey world and our thoughts remain with his family, friends and team-mates at this difficult time.

In memory of Mike, a tribute has gone up on the big screen outside the Motorpoint Arena this morning.

It's clear from the tributes that Hammy was loved by so many, whether it be family, friends, coaches, players, staff and supporters.

Mike always had time to stop and chat and that's obvious from the many photos posted by supporters in the past few days.

Hammond, who played for the Panthers last season, also iced in the Elite League for Braehead Clan and Manchester Storm, as well as Coventry Blaze during the behind-closed-doors Elite Series.

He was a GB international and helped Pete Russell's side to promotion in the World Championship in Nottingham earlier this year, scoring in the final-day 5-3 victory against Italy to clinch the gold medal.
