The Nottingham Panthers face Sheffield Steelers this evening as the two teams compete for the inaugural GM the GM Memorial Trophy in honour of former General Manager, Gary Moran.

Gary spent 24 years as the club's GM from 1997 to 2021, but also covered the club as a reporter and broadcaster.

In 2000, the Panthers moved from the old ice rink to the National Ice Centre and Gary helped double the club's atterndance in a period of massive transformation.

During his time as GM, Panthers won one league championship, five playoff titles, eight Challenge Cups, one IIHF Continental Cup and the 2021 Elite Series.

The Panthers will wear special GM the GM memorial jerseys. You can grab one of these game-worn jerseys in the fixed-price sale which will be held in the foyer before the game when doors open at 5:30pm.

The jerseys will be priced at £150 and all proceeds will go to the Nottingham Hospitals Charity and their work fighting cancer.

The sale will be cash only and on a strict first-come first-served basis, so be sure to arrive early

There will also be two special prizes in our shirt raffle, with all profits also being donated to the Nottingham Hospitals Charity.

You could win a special GM the GM memorial jersey signed by the whole team, as well as by his son Paul Moran who, of course, is a former Panthers player.

There's also a 75th anniversary #10 Randall Weber shirt, signed by Weber himself. Look out for sellers around the rink.

And as ever, there's the usual 50-50 draw in association with Temple Printing.

It's Panthers against the Steelers in the Challenge Cup - the action gets under way at 7pm.
