Nottingham Panthers began their Elite League campaign with a massive 6-1 victory on the road at Guildford Flames.
Chase Pearson scored twice and former Guildford forward Bryan Lemos had a goal and two assists on a night of dominance by the Panthers.
Jason Grande started between the pipes with Luca Sheldon as back-up, while Matt Alfaro remained the only absentee as he recovers from his post-season operation.
Lemos gives Panthers first-period lead
Tim Doherty went close twice on the same shift while David Noël was denied on the powerplay and at the other end, Grande made a huge save to stop Tyler Preziuso's short-handed breakaway.
Doherty scored a beauty of a one-timer from the right-circle on the powerplay, but the goal was overturned for the net off its moorings after a video review.
But that didn't put Panthers off their stride as Josh Tetlow won the puck on the wall to enable Lemos to cut across the zone and fire past Taz Burman for the first goal of the night (18:57).
Panthers score four times in dominant second period
Panthers netted three goals in six minutes to take control of the game as Pearson's clever pass set-up Brendan Harris early in the session (21:26).
Mitch Fossier pounced on a giveaway in the Flames zone (27:21) and Ross Armour redirected Lemos' floated shot towards the net past Burman (30:55).
Pearson scored a close-range rebound moments after a Panthers powerplay had expired (37:07) for a 5-0 second-period lead.
Pearson scores second of the night
Burman was replaced by Justin Fazio for the start of the third session and he made a huge stop on the line to deny Harris.
Moments later, Flames broke down the ice and Mathieu Gosselin scored from close-range (41:02).
Guildford forward Marcus Tesink was thrown-out for boarding and Panthers took advantage on the powerplay with Harris feeding Pearson at the backdoor for his second of the night (47:56).
