Nottingham Panthers secured another vital two points in the Challenge Cup as Kevin Carr sealed a 33-shot shutout in a 3-0 victory on the road at Coventry Blaze.

Panthers went ahead after only 48 seconds when a great move by Brendan Harris saw him burst through the Coventry defence and although his shot was saved by Mat Robson, Matt Marcinew buried the rebound (00:48).

Carr made a string of outstanding saves in the first 10 minutes, including two stops on Grayson Constable and one on Matthew Gleason.

Ross Armour had a huge opportunity to make it 2-0 in the second period but was denied from close-range, while Tim Doherty also went close.

At the other end, Carr continued to stand on his head and made stops to deny Gleason and Grant Mismash.

Cooper Zech and Jardod Hilderman had chances early in the third session, before Marcinew hit the pipes.

Chase Pearson made it 2-0 with his fourth goal of the weekend when he redirected David Noël's shot past Robson (56:29).

Zsombor Garát made sure of the two points with an empty-net goal with a shot from his own zone after Blaze lifted Robson for the extra skater (58:35).
