Nottingham Panthers stretched their lead at the top of the Elite League table to three points with a 4-1 victory over Glasgow Clan at the Motorpoint Arena.

Jason Grande started between the pipes with Luca Sheldon as back-up, while Panthers continued to be without injured forwards Mitch Fossier and Brendan Harris.

Alfaro scores short-handed equaliser
The visitors took an early lead short-handed when former Panther Felix Paré won the race to a loose puck and put away his own rebound (04:22).

Grande made a good pad save to deny Colton Poolman, while Didrik Henbrant went close for the Panthers on the backhand.

Danny Stewart's side equalised when a blocked shot by Ollie Betteridge led to captain Matt Alfaro breaking clear short-handed from his own zone to beat Sami Aittokallio (17:48)

Pearson gives Panthers lead at second intermission
David Noël twice shot just wide on a second-period Panthers powerplay and Tim Doherty saw his effort from the left-circle saved.

Nolan Volcan's created Panthers' second goal with a clever backhand pass to Chase Pearson who drove the net (30:44).

Glasgow were forced into a change of netminder with 90 seconds left in the session when Aittokallio picked up an injury after a big shot by Noël and was replaced by Lucas Brine.

Panthers seal win with two third-period goals
Darien Kielb shot just over and then forced a great save out of Grande as Clan pushed for an equaliser.

Pearson fed Matt Marcinew who saw his shot come off the post behind Brine before Clan a defenceman scuffed the puck into his own net trying to clear (49:27).

A neat interchange of passing set-up Panthers' fourth goal and Ross Armour drove the backdoor (56:34) to set the seal on a four-point weekend after Saturday's 2-1 home victory against Guildford Flames.
