Nottingham Panthers completed the three-game Scottish road trip with a 4-1 win over Fife Flyers in Kirkcaldy.
Victory means Panthers remain two points clear at the top of the Elite League table and secured five points out of a possible six from the three matches north of the border.
Kevin Carr started between the pipes with Luca Sheldon as back-up. Zsombor Garát and Jordan Kelsall missed the game (precaution), while Nolan Volcan came into the line-up. Jason Grande was the healthy scratch.
Alfaro powerplay goal puts Panthers ahead
David Noël and Mitch Fossier had efforts saved before the puck fell to Matt Alfaro to bury the rebound to put Panthers ahead on the powerplay (06:27).
Former Panther Logan Neilson - on his Fife home debut - saw his shot saved by Carr who also turned away efforts by Johan Porsberger and Giordano Finoro.
For the Panthers, Chase Pearson hit the crossbar while Didrik Henbrant and Brendan Harris also had good chances in an entertaining first period.
Doherty's one-timer stretches Panthers' lead
Matt Marcinew hit the pipes and Harris had a chance on the rebound within 30 seconds of the restart and at the other end, Carr made an outstanding glove save to deny Fife forward Garet Hunt.
Superb work down the left by Fossier created the second goal as he set-up Noël who fed Tim Doherty for a beauty of a one-timer from the right-circle (36:51).
Panthers secure win to stay top of the table
Strong work by Marcinew forced the turnover and Pearson cut in from the left and went backhand top-shelf to beat Christian Purboo (43:46).
Anton Karlsson set-up Ethan Somoza to score from close-range on a five-on-three powerplay to get the hosts on the board (48:26).
Henbrant fed Doherty to score into the empty net for his second goal of the night (59:33).
Fossier admitted to hospital but later discharged to travel home
During the third period, Fossier collided with the boards after a hit by Hunt and was carried off the ice and taken to hospital.
He was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy and was later discharged to join the team on the bus to return to Nottingham to continue his recovery
The Panthers would like to thank our medical and bench staff - and the medics in Fife - for their support in attending to Mitch this evening.
