Nottingham Panthers served up six of the best with a convincing 6-1 victory over Coventry Blaze at the Skydome Arena.
It was a four-point night for Chase Pearson including two goals and netminder Kevin Carr made 32 saves.
Matt Alfaro missed the game through injury while Didrik Henbrant was ruled out because of illness. Carr started between the pipes with Luca Sheldon as back-up.
Panthers score three in first period
Carr made good saves to deny Matt Gleason, Grant Mismash and Jere Vertanen inside the opening five minutes as Coventry started the stronger.
Panthers scored two short-handed goals in 24 seconds as Matt Spencer fed Pearson who batted the puck out the air at the backdoor (12:02) and Nolan Volcan broke into the zone before firing past Mat Robson (12:26).
David Noël's shot from left-point was tipped past Robson by Pearson for his second of the night (15:42).
Fossier stretches Panthers lead to four
Pearson got his fourth point of the night with an unselfish play when he fed Mitch Fossier in the right-circle to make it 4-0 to the Panthers (29:07).
Coventry looked for a way back into the game and Carr made saves on Jere Vertanen and Alessio Luciani on a second-period Coventry powerplay.
Two powerplay goals set seal on victory
Panthers scored two powerplay goals in 85 seconds as Ross Armour set-up Tim Doherty (46:07) and Matt Marcinew fired past Robson from the right-circle (47:32).
Blaze broke the shutout with a neat move up the ice which saw Mismash score at the backdoor (54:51).
Noël fought Kim Tallberg while Jordan Kelsall and former Panther Zaine McKenzie went toe-to-toe in a feisty end to the game as Panthers secured an excellent two points.
Tickets selling fast for next Friday against Fife
Panthers are next in home action on Friday 13th March as Fife Flyers visit the Motorpoint Arena (19:00 face-off).
There's already fewer than 1,000 tickets remaining for the game which is sponsored by Weathertech Roofing.
