Nottingham Panthers forward Ollie Betteridge has been named in the Great Britain squad for next week's men's IIHF European Cup of Nations in Sosnowiec
GB will face hosts Poland along with Italy and Ukraine from 5th to 7th November. Matches will take place at the 3,500-seater Arcelor Mittal Park ice rink.
Seven players have been named in a men’s GB squad for the first time – defencemen Noah Kääriäinen and Liam Stenton as well as forwards Carter Hamill, Connor Lee, Ricards Misins, Jake Sacratini and Edgars Vengis.
Head Coach, Pete Russell, said: “This is an exciting trip to Poland as we’re taking some of our most talented young prospects. Providing opportunities for our athletes of the future is a key focus of our NextGen strategy.
“It’s a chance for us to nurture our young talent. With seven under-20 players joining us, this is a fantastic opportunity for them to engage with GB senior men’s hockey.
“Supported by some experienced senior-team players, they will gain invaluable insights into our identity of play. We will get a real look at the challenging group of players for the senior programme."
