Nottingham Panthers have signed 25-year-old British forward Patrick Larkin for the 2026-27 season.

After playing for the Swindon-based Okanagan Hockey Academy as a youngster, Larkin spent the rest of his junior career in Canada, including a year at Ontario Hockey Academy, which was followed by two seasons at the Canadian International Hockey Academy (CIHA).

He spent four years in the CCHL - one of the highest levels of junior hockey in Canada, before playing four seasons at McGill University in the USports league.

The 25-year-old, who can also play on defence, has been described by junior scouts in North America as having "unbelievable wheels and edge control" and Panthers Head Coach Danny Stewart outlines his attributes.

"We are excited to get Larkin on board for next season," said Stewart. "As a first-year pro, we are hoping he can add some energy to our line-up on and off the ice.

"He skates well, can play forward and defence, and plays with some grit up and down the ice.

"We are getting a player from a great programme at McGill University, and we are excited to help him transition to pro."

Larkin made his Great Britain debut last season in the IIHF European Cup of Nations in Edinburgh, scoring in the 3-2 victory over Ukraine in February.

"The seed was planted 10 years ago in my mind that I would one day play in Nottingham after I went to David Clarke's camp," said Larkin. "I then followed that up with some pre-season training camps with the Panthers as a kid.

"Coming to play for Nottingham is an easy decision. It's a great building, great fans and the city is great. I couldn't ask for a better place to play, and I am very thankful for the opportunity that Omar and Danny have given me."
