CHARITY OF THE MONTH: NOTTINGHAM HOSPITALS CHARITY

One of our two Charities of the Month for November is Nottingham Hospitals Charity.

Nottingham Hospitals Charity is the official charity of Nottingham's five NHS hospitals and their vision is to create the best-possible NHS care and facilities for patients across the East Midlands and beyond.

Working in partnership, they fund projects that go above and beyond what the NHS can provide, including state-of-the-art medical equipment, pioneering research, improved hospital environments, wellbeing initiatives and staff support programmes.

Since 2006, together with our incredible community of donors, volunteers, fundraisers and corporate partners, Nottingham Hospitals Charity have raised more than £65 million to support Nottingham's NHS hospitals.

Sam Cousens, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: "We are delighted that the Nottingham Panthers have chosen to support cancer care.

"Since 2012, Panthers have raised more than £64,000 for cancer services and almost £96,000 for Nottingham Hospitals Charity causes overall. We're incredibly grateful to the Nottingham Panthers and their supporters for their continued commitment to cancer care at Nottingham's NHS hospitals.

"This year's support will help fund the renovation of the Hogarth Roof Garden at City Hospital. The garden provides patients and their loved ones with access to fresh air and a peaceful outdoor space away from the clinical environment.

"The improvements will transform the garden into a more welcoming, accessible and therapeutic space, helping to enhance the wellbeing of patients undergoing treatment and care."
