Forward Tim Doherty has signed a new contract to return to the Nottingham Panthers for the 2025-26 season.
The 29-year-old scored 48 points (23+25) in 47 regular-season matches and contributed 10 points (6+4) in 13 Challenge Cup games.
Doherty also excelled in the post-season with two huge goals and four assists as Panthers won the Playoff Championship title.
After two goals in the quarter-final first leg at Guildford Flames, he got two assists in the second leg at the Motorpoint Arena as Panthers booked their place at Finals Weekend with an 8-6 aggregate victory.
He assisted on Mitch Fossier's goal against Sheffield Steelers in the semi-final and helped set-up Sam Herr for his second goal against Cardiff Devils in the final.
Doherty said: "What a special year it was. We had such a great group of guys. We had ups and down throughout the year but that made us tighter as a team.
"If guys were hurt or sick, they still showed up and played for each other. Everyone pushed themselves and everyone knew they could rely on each other.
"This, for sure, was the most fun year I've had and I have never played in front of fans like this in such a cool building and the culture they're building in Nottingham is so special.
"The fans make you want to play better, they make you want to win. After we won the playoffs, I was thinking how badly we wanted to win for them. They make home games so special."
Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "Tim was a huge part of our season success last year. A mid-season injury disrupted his season a bit, but when he came back he played his best hockey.
"He’s a threat offensively every night, both five-on-five and on the powerplay. He scored some big goals for us down the stretch. He proved he can be a big-game player and we know he will bring the same next season."
Signing news in association with GVL Recovery.
