Former Nottingham Panthers forward Matthew Myers has announced his retirement from international ice hockey.

Myers, who spent 11 seasons over four spells with the Panthers, won 114 caps for Great Britain, which is the second-highest behind Jonathan Phillips (116).

The Cardiff-born forward scored 22 goals and 21 assists for 43 points and never missed a tournament after making his debut in 2004 in Oslo, Norway.

He played in 19 World Championships and five Olympic Qualifiers and was part of GB's gold medal-winning campaigns in Belfast (2017), Hungary (2018) and Nottingham (2023).

Myers also won silver medals in 2011, 2015 and 2016, as well as a bronze in 2009, and played in three successive top-flight World Championship tournaments starting with Slovakia in 2019.

Everyone at the Panthers would like to congratulate Matthew on an amazing international career.
