FORWARD ANTHONY LUCIANI SIGNS FOR THE PANTHERS

The Nottingham Panthers have signed Canadian forward Anthony Luciani until the end of the season.

Luciani, who will wear #88 for the Panthers, will make his debut in tomorrow night's home game with Glasgow Clan.

The 33-year-old spent the first four years of his career in the American Hockey League, splitting his time between Rochester Americans and San Antonio Rampage.

He also spent five years in the ECHL, scoring at nearly a point per game for Cincinnati Cyclones, Toldeo Walleye, Greenville Road Warriors.

In 2015, Luciani played in Norway and Italy and has since iced in some of the top leagues in Europe including scoring over a point a game with Orli Znojmo in the EBEL.

He also spent time to Sweden, Czechia, Slovakia, Germany and for the past two seasons has been with Villacher SV in the ICEHL.

The Nottingham Panthers Head Coach, Jonathan Paredes, said: Anthony is a natural goalscorer with very high energy.

"He's had success in the past and will help us offensively. He works hard and competes every night, so he will bring a lot to the on the ice.

"He will be key off the ice too and has already fitted in well into the dressing room. He has a contagious smile and the coaching staff feel he will fit into the team really well."

Luciani, who skated today with his new team-mates for the first time, said: "It was awesome and great to start building chemistry with the boys.

"It's a great group of guys and I'm excited to be part of the team. I saw the game on Saturday and the noise was unreal and there was so much energy in the building.

"I can't wait to play in front of these amazing fans."
