Nottingham Panthers have signed prolific points-scorer Spencer Naas for the 2026/27 season.

The 30-year-old forward has spent the past three seasons as Alternate Captain with Dundee Stars, scoring at over a point per game with 146 points (65+81) in 143 regular-season matches.

In his first season in Dundee in 2023/24 he led the league with 32 goals in 54 games and quickly became a fans' favourite on Tayside. In 2024/25, he also had a stint with German DEL2 side EHC Freiburg.

Naas said: "I am super excited to come to Nottingham and I want to challenge for a league title.

"I had three great seasons in Dundee and it was an awesome time, but I am really looking forward to this new challenge.

"Talking to Omar (Pacha) and Danny (Stewart), everything is so positive and that made me know I am making a good decision.

"It's clear the aim is to win the league and that's exciting. My goals align with the Panthers and that's just what you want as a player."

After spending four years with the University of Connecticut in the NCAA, including his final two years as Alternate Captain, Naas signed an amateur tryout contract with the Cleveland Monsters in the AHL, affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets.

Naas signed his first pro deal ahead of the 2018-19 season - an AHL contract with Texas Stars, the farm team to the Dallas Stars. The forward also played over 100 games in the ECHL before heading to Europe.

He played in Sweden with Tranås AIF of the HockeyEttan in 2020-21 and in France with Amiens a year later. Naas returned to North America in 2022-23 and was named Alternate Captain of Savannah Ghost Pirates in the ECHL, before going to the UK for the first time the following season.

Naas continued: "Every time I went into Nottingham as a player it was just an incredible environment and I just can't wait to get going.

"Fans across the Elite League are great but the scale of the arena and fans in Nottingham is on another level, so I am super excited about it."

Panthers Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "Over the years we have felt Spencer was always a nuisance - in a good way - against us.

"His work rate, combined with his speed, always made him a threat all over the ice. He’s a team-first guy and has the experience in our league to know what’s expected to win.

"He adds high-quality depth to our roster, a guy that can move up and down the line-up when needed and adapt to different roles.

"His career 1.02 PPG in 143 games in the EIHL also shows his ability to produce in this league. Scoring depth is something that is now necessary to win games consistently in this league."
