LEADERSHIP GROUP CONFIRMED FOR 2026/27
Matt Alfaro will captain the Nottingham Panthers again this season with Ollie Betteridge, Tim Doherty and Zsombor Garát named as Alternate Captains.
Alfaro, Betteridge and Doherty were all part of the captaincy team last season, while Garát has been added to the leadership team for this season.
Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "Returning three guys from our leadership group is huge for our group of guys. Alfy leading the way is a no-brainer. He plays the game the right way and leads by example out there.
"He will be supported by Tim and Ollie again this year. Both did a great job last season on and off the ice - and I will expect even more from them. We added Z to the group this year. Again, another guy that competes every night and is a great pro.
"I’ve had all three of these guys for three years now and the respect we’ve built up is what we need to make progression. The best teams are player-led groups and I have all the confidence these guys can lead the way."
Challenge Cup home opener on Saturday
The regular-season gets under way this weekend as we begin the defence of our Challenge Cup title when we face Manchester Storm tomorrow (Saturday 12th September) at 19:00.
As of Friday afternoon, there's under 700 seats left in the bowl so you are advised to secure your seats as soon as possible.
