The build-up begins for a two-game weekend for the Nottingham Panthers which will conclude with Sunday's (11th October) home game with Fife Flyers in the Motorpoint Elite League.
Before that, Panthers travel to Manchester Storm on Saturday (10th October) for the rearranged Challenge Cup game at the AO Arena.
A four-point weekend in the cup for Panthers with wins over Coventry Blaze (4-3) and Guildford Flames (6-3) saw Danny Stewart's side jump to second in Group A, just a point behind leaders Sheffield Steelers.
The group is still wide open with only four points separating Sheffield and sixth-placed Coventry.
Sunday's visit of Fife sees the return of Tim Wallace who was coach of the Panthers from 2019 to 2022, which included winning the Elite Series in May 2021 during the covid pandemic.
It's also a first time back in Nottingham for defenceman Victor Björkung who iced for the Panthers in the early part of the 2023/24 season.
Fife are coming off the back of a superb weekend with two overtime victories over Sheffield Steelers.
In Sheffield on Saturday, Xander Lamppa scored the winner at 60:18 to secure his side the extra point in a 2-1 victory.
The two teams met again in Kirkcaldy on Sunday and this time it was Mika Partanen netting the game-winner at 60:46 in another 2-1 success.
Sunday's game in Nottingham is sponsored by Candid Digital and Family Tickets are available in Block 8 and Block 12 which offer reduced admission compared to full standard matchnight prices.
