LUCA SHELDON RETURNS FOR THE 2026/27 SEASON

British netminder Luca Sheldon has signed a deal to return to the Nottingham Panthers for the 2026/27 season.

The Nottingham-born 24-year-old is back for a fifth successive season after first icing for the club as a teenager on a two-way contract with the Nottingham Lions.

Sheldon came through the Nottingham Junior System and was a Conference U17 Champion with the Midlands Under-17s in 2018/19.

"It's an honour to represent my hometown club and I am thrilled to be back for a fifth season," said Sheldon.

"I am keen to keep improving every day and being part of this amazing hockey club.

"I have worked with some great netminders at the club already and I am looking forward to working with Mat (Robson) and Kai (Edmonds) this season."

Panthers Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "Luca is an important part of our locker room and we are really pleased to have him back.

"A back-up goalie position can be tough but Luca just gets on with it and has no complaints. He's a great team-mate in the room and is immensely popular.

"He continues to learn every day which is great and we are looking forward to seeing his progression next season."
