Nottingham Panthers would like to thank forward Johnny Curran following his release by the club today.

With the return of Mitch Fossier from IR, it means Panthers have the maximum 18 non British-trained players as per Elite League rules.

Curran was signed on an initial five-week contract which was slightly extended to cover for injuries.

The 30-year-old scored five points (3+2) in 10 Elite League matches including a goal on his debut on the road at Sheffield Steelers.

The Great Britain international also scored twice in the 4-1 victory over Guildford Flames on 24th January.

He was part of the Continental Cup-winning team which lifted the European trophy at the Motorpoint Arena last month.

Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "Johnny came in when we were in the middle of a tough run of injuries.

"His contributions have been very important, not least his goal and assist in his first two games as a Panther against the Steelers at Christmas.

"Johnny gave 100 per cent every night and I am thrilled he managed to win silverware with us winning the Continental Cup."
