Nottingham Panthers are straight back into Motorpoint Elite League action with a trip north to face Sheffield Steelers this evening (19:00 face-off).

It's the third meeting between the two sides this season after a win each in Group A of the Challenge Cup.

The Steelers won the first meeting 3-2 in overtime in Sheffield in September as Tim Doherty and Joe Hazeldine scored for the Panthers.

Panthers came from behind at the Motorpoint Arena to win a dramatic game 3-2 with two late goals. Doherty was on target but Panthers trailed with just around five minutes to go.

Zsombor Garát buried a loose puck to equalise at 54:48 and Ben Corbeil scored on the powerplay (57:58) to win the game for Danny Stewart's side.

Panthers have two wins from their opening three Motorpoint Elite League matches while Sheffield have played six games, recording three wins, one defeat and two overtime losses.
