Netminder Kevin Carr has announced his retirement from professional ice hockey.
Carr was a huge fans' favourite across three stints with the Panthers. He posted seven shutouts across 84 Elite League games, including a league-high four in the 2019-20 campaign.
He helped the Panthers win the silver medal in the 2020 Continental Cup, posting a phenomenal 1.96 goals-against average and a .945 save percentage.
Last season, Carr helped lead Panthers to the Gold Medal in the Continental Cup and win the Challenge Cup with an overtime victory against Coventry Blaze.
His stellar performances throughout the season saw him named Fans' Player of the Year, as well as Most Consistent Player of the Year by the coaches.
Carr said: "Nottingham is an unbelievable place to play hockey and I feel very fortunate that I got a chance to come back.
"The fans have been so good to me and my family, wins or losses, it doesn't matter. It just means so much I can't say enough.
"This organisation for what it has done for myself and my family - it has been unbelievable.
"The experience to meet new people, great people, amazing team-mates and I just want to say thank you."
Ontario-born Carr began his professional career in North America in 2014 and played 233 games in the ECHL over a seven-year period.
Carr iced for Dundee Stars in the 2023/24 season and also played in Croatia, Norway and Germany.
Panthers Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "I am gonna miss this guy. An asolute warrior. Carrsy was exceptional for us last season.
"Every night he went in there he gave us a chance. He battled every night and as a coach, thats pretty much what you ask for from guys. Not all do it consistently but he did.
"Off the ice as a team-mate, even better. Team-first mentality, leader and loved in the room. One of the best people I’ve had the pleasure to coach in my career.
"I wish Lauren, Cathrine and Kevin all the best in their next chapter. Players come and go, it sucks for everyone, but he’s one of the good guys in this sport and in life."
