Mitch Fossier scored the game-winning shootout goal on his return from injury as Nottingham Panthers won 4-3 on-the-road at Glasgow Clan.

Fossier returned to the line-up for the first time since getting injured in Fife on 7th December. Matt Marcinew remained out of action through injury, while Tim Doherty and Cooper Zech missed the game because of illness.

Josh Tetlow and Johnny Curran were on international duty with Great Britain. Kevin Carr started between the pipes with Jason Grande as back-up.

Former Panther gives Clan first-period lead
Clan took an early lead when former Panther Félix Paré scored a doorstep rebound on the powerplay (02:23), while Carr made a great save to deny Hugo Roy.

For the Panthers, Nolan Volcan hit the bar and Jarod Hilderman went close after being superbly set-up by Fossier.

Superb goal by Nolan but Clan still ahead
Volcan scored an outstanding equaliser when - with his back to goal - he put the puck through his legs and through the legs of Joe Hazeldine and Clan netminder Liam Soulière (23:01).

Brett Neumann beat the Panthers defence and went top-shelf on Carr to put the hosts ahead for a second time (27:01).

Three quick goals in third session
The game burst into life with three goals in 80 seconds in the opening stages of the third period.

David Noël's equaliser with a blast from the blueline on the powerplay (40:45) was followed 12 seconds later by Tristin Langan getting the final touch in front of Carr (40:57).

But Panthers roared straight back and hard work by Didrik Henbrant set-up Ollie Bettridge for a snipe of a finish from the left-circle (42:05).

Fossier scores game-winner on return from injury
A superb pad save by Carr denied Langan in overtime and at the other end, Chase Pearson went close twice in quick succession.

Carr wasn't beaten in any of Clan's five attempts and Fossier made it a fairytale return with the only goal of the shootout.
