BETTERIDGE NAMED GREAT BRITAIN CAPTAIN
Nottingham Panthers forward Ollie Betteridge has been named Great Britain Captain for this weekend's IIHF European Cup of Nations.
Betteridge is joined on the leadership team by former Panthers defenceman Joe Hazeldine, as well as Guildford Flames' Josh Waller, who will both be Alternate Captains.
GB will face hosts Poland, along with Italy and Slovenia, in the four-team tournament from Thursday 6th to Saturday 8th November at the Arcelor Mittal Park Arena.
Betteridge said: “It’s such a huge and special honour to be named as Captain of Great Britain for this tournament.
“I’m thrilled to be working with two great players – Joe and Josh – on the leadership team and both of them will be important in the locker room.
“We have some great young talent with us this weekend and they’re the future of the national team. We’re excited to see many of them get their first taste of senior international hockey.”
