Ollie Betteridge has signed a new deal to return the Nottingham Panthers for the 2025-26 campaign.
The 29-year-old has also been granted a testimonial season to mark his 10th full season with the Panthers.
After coming through the junior section of Nottingham Ice Hockey Club, Betteridge first iced for the Panthers as a teenager in 2011-12.
The forward signed his first full-time deal in 2015-16 and this season moved ahead of Simon Hunt into eighth place in the all-time appearance list having iced 537 times for the Panthers.
During a glittering career so far, he's won the Challenge Cup (2016), Continental Cup (2017), the behind-closed-doors Elite Series (2021) and is now a two-time playoff champion.
After being part of team that beat Coventry Blaze in the 2016 final, Betteridge played all four games in this season's playoff series which saw Panthers lift the trophy with a 4-3 victory over Cardiff Devils in the Grand Final.
Betteridge has just returned from Romania and was part of the Great Britain squad that won gold and promotion to the 2026 World Championship in Switzerland.
"I am thrilled to be coming back to the Panthers for another season," said Betteridge. "This is where my heart is and I love playing for this club.
"What we achieved last season was so special and it was great to win a trophy for this amazing fanbase. We have a special group of guys and it was a honour to be part of such a great team.
"Winning was just an amazing feeling and I feel this is just the start. We are now building the foundations to be a successful club year after year.
"I'd like to thank the club for granting me a testimonial and in the coming weeks and months there'll be announcements about a testimonial game and special events throughout the season."
Panthers Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "Ollie plays a big part for this club on and off the ice. His work rate is unmatched.
"He was part of a leadership group that led us to a successful season and will be part of a returning group that will drive this team forward.
"His speed and tenacity are his greatest qualities, and he played a big role in our PK success this past season."
Signing news in association with GVL Recovery.
